National Reconciliation Week

As part of National Reconciliation Week 2020, Principal Gina Pickering and Elder Marie Taylor were invited by the Department of Justice, to record a conversation which reflected their experiences working together on the Fanny Balbuk Yooreel: Realising a Perth Resistance Fighter. Both women developed  a suite of outcomes for the National Trust of Western Australia, including a documentary and publication, to share the extraordinary life of Fanny Balbuk Yooreel, arguably the most important Whadjuk woman of the 19th century.
