It was a privilege to deliver the Town of Bassendean’s Annual Library History Lecture, 19 June 2019 and synthesize a decade of cultural heritage work on the values of the Swan River. Entitled Swan River Currents and Connections: realising a 2029 bicentenary, the talk acknowledged the unique values of Perth’s riverscape, its potential for world heritage listing and examined a new shift to greater esteem for rivers which is embedded in law in Australia and internationally.
